Feisty Nebbiolo

2016 Nebbiolo from Piedmont, Italy - 12.5% ABV

Where’s it from? Piedmont in Italy. Said peh-ah-MON-tay if you need to impress the in-laws.

Who made it? Corrado, whose family have tended the vineyard for generations.

What’s on the nose?*Strawberries and pepper.

What does it taste like? Lighter than you might expect from an Italian red! Think strawberries with a twist of the pepper mill. There’s a delicious hint of tannin there too.

Pair with: Piedmontese tartar. Google image it…

Fun fact: The Nebbiolo grape is used to make world-famous Italian reds Barolo and Barbaresco.

*That’s a posh wine way of saying “What does it smell like?”

Wild Dolcetto

2019 Dolcetto from Piedmont, Italy - 12.5% ABV

Where’s it from? Also from Piedmont, in a vineyard surrounded by wildflower meadows.

Who made it? This is a second wine made by Corrado.

What’s on the nose? This generous wine delivers an entire wildflower garden on first sniff.

What does it taste like? Dark berries, red fruits and cosy evenings by the fire.

Pair with: Pizza! With Netflix and your best friend.

Fun fact: Rumour has it that Corrado’s grandfather loved this wine so much that he drank it while tending the vines.

Zesty Riesling

2019 Riesling from Rheingau, Germany - 11.5% ABV

Where’s it from? The Rheingau in Germany, which is an area famed for its dry wine styles.

Who made it? Brothers Christoph and Thomas, who are evangelists of sustainable winemaking techniques.

What’s on the nose? Peaches and elderflowers.

What does it taste like? Unlike other German Rieslings, this is a dry wine. It has real depth and elegance.

Pair with: Asian food and/or sunshine.

Fun fact: The grapes made to create this wine come from 70yr old vines. Old vines mean smaller grapes with more intense and complex flavours.

Crisp Sauvignon

2019 Sauvignon Blanc from The Loire, France 12% ABV

Where’s it from? The Loire Valley in France. Home of fancy Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé.

Who made it? An independent winemaker and local legend called Nicholas.

What’s on the nose? Florals and quince.

What does it taste like? Light, mineral and crisp!

Pair with: Any seafood. Our favourite is a fresh Spaghetti Vongolé.

Fun fact: When he’s not making Sauvignon or Chardonnay, Nicholas makes the lesser-known Pineau d’Aunis variety for his favourite winemaker hangouts.

Smooth Chardonnay

2019 Chardonnay from The Loire, France - 12.5% ABV

Where’s it from? Also The Loire Valley… Can you tell we like it there?!

Who made it? This is another Nicholas-made wine.

What’s on the nose? Honey and florals.

What does it taste like? Firstly what it doesn’t taste like… Chardonnay can have a bad rep thanks to the big, buttery New World wines. This isn’t that. It’s all soft citrus and fresh minerals.

Pair with: Goats cheese. Every time. It’ll just melt in your mouth.

Fun fact: Ok so maybe geeky fact is more accurate… The vines that make this wine are grown on limestone-rich soils. Grapes love limestone, because it retains moisture in warm weather, but also drains in the heat.

Chill Rosé

2019 Grenache from Provence, France - 12.5% ABV

Where’s it from? Provence. Where else?!

Who made it? Clotilde, who is part of a small winegrowing cooperative.

What’s on the nose? Pink grapefruits, citrus and soft florals.

What does it taste like? Fresh strawberries and cream. Think Henley Regatta in a glass.

Pair with: Salads, seafood and sunshine.

Fun fact: Clotilde harvests his grapes at night, in the coolest temperatures. This protects the flavours of the grapes.

Sparkling Zesty Riesling

2019 sparkling Riesling from Rheingau, Germany - 11.5% ABV

Where’s it from? Also from The Rheingau, alongside it’s still companion.

Who made it? Winemaking brothers, Christoph and Thomas.

What’s on the nose? Peaches, elderflowers and citrus.

What does it taste like? It’s all delicate fruit, a light spritz of bubbles and high acidity.

Pair with: Canapés at a poolside soirée

Fun fact: Lighter than Champagne, sparkling Riesling (known locally as “Rieslingsekt”) is one of Germany’s best kept secrets.

Sparkling Chill Rosé

2019 Grenache from Provence, France - 12.5% ABV

Where’s it from? Provence. The spiritual home of Rosé.

Who made it? Another magical Rosé from Clotilde.

What’s on the nose? Pink grapefruits, citrus and soft florals.

What does it taste like? Deliciously light, with a light sprinkle of tiny bubbles. This is the kind of wine you could drink all day.

Pair with: Salmon blinis. At a fancy party. In the sunshine.

Fun fact: This wine is made purely from the Grenache grape. That’s where the light blush colour and sweet-fruit flavours come from!
